LTR Brands

Overview/Challenge

LTR Brands by Tiffany Parros is an Eco-friendly women's collection made up of dresses, tops, and jackets made entirely of organic bamboo thread and colored with organic dyes. All pieces are cut, sewn and printed in Los Angeles. As with most of our clients, they decided to use us to rebuild the new website, once again incorporating electronic commerce (e-commerce). This website was an upgrade from the first version. Key features needed to include:

  1. LTR Brands was a new collection, separate from the line listed on the previous website. Therefore, the new website needed to illustrate a classier level of quality. It needed to include a brief slideshow of professional photography, full-screen, before entering the shopping area.
  2. The new collection incorporated bamboo fibers, and such feature was a huge selling point to the company. This information needed to be prominently displayed so that visitors understood this benefit while shopping.
  3. The older site listed one photo per item. The new site needed the ability to list multiple images per item if necessary.
  4. The older site used pop up windows to display larger images upon zoom. Since most browsers blocked popups, the new site needed to display larger images within the same window, with an easy way to return to the product quickly.
  5. The older site did not fully explain the return policy during checkout. The new site needed to prominently display this information, as this is a policy for most merchants processing MasterCard, Visa, and others.
Solution

Building a storefront management system (also known as a shopping cart) was nearly effortless, since we know our business inside and out. However, we needed to be sure that the client's needs were met entirely. We recommended the use of a popular open source Content Management System (CMS). The system includes the features:

  • Basic reporting to measure which items were viewed, reviewed and purchased most.
  • Password-protected website administration for secure and instant page and product management. We trained assigned staff members so that they could quickly update the website without our immediate intervention.
  • Web 2.0 technology was included to feature product zoom (larger images) within the same window, completely eliminating the need for popup windows.
  • A new step-by-step checkout process was incorporated so that shoppers were provided with policies and terms prior to payment.
  • General product features, such as the use of bamboo fibers, were broadcasted on nearly every page, so that it was almost impossible to miss.
  • An Adobe Flash intro.

We also provided world-class web hosting on our robust LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) servers for quick and reliable deployment. Building on our servers provided an advantage, as we did not have to contact outside agencies to make configuration changes during installation and development. We were also able to assign as many email accounts as necessary, so that all LTR Brands personnel could utilize business email via any web browser, email client, or mobile device.

Our Design Team manipulated stock and client-provided materials to build an image and brand consistent with their current marketing material. this included the company logo, product photography, company colors, preferred typeface and more. The website was built to look great no matter the browser, and employed sidebar menus for better organization.

Conclusion

Not only did we once again build a robust shopping cart, the client has once again received rave reviews regarding the new website. In fact, we have won two awards for the design and functionality. Visit www.ltrbrands.com to see for yourself.
